New Mexico Veterans

NM Veteran Service Network

About Us

New Mexico Veterans was created to support Veterans services outreach and promote coordination among and between Veterans, advocates and service providers. The flow of headlines, feature stories, photos, events calendar and videos ride on a full blown social network.

If you're a Veteran, active duty military, National Guard or Reserve with a connection to New Mexico, you are invited to join this network. We'll keep it stocked with cool stuff, reliable information, news, videos, photos and "how to" content. It's an advocacy network but we have fun too.

As a community, we need an honest resource like this to to gather and reminisce, to celebrate our accomplishments and contributions, and to encourage/support our state lawmakers, congressional delegation, VA, NM DVS, Veteran Service Organizations, etc. These are challenging times for Veterans and for the institutions charged with serving us. NMVeterans is not a government PR machine that ignores or glosses over problems, or is beholden to elected officials. That's not necessarily a criticism of VA, NM DVS, etc. In fact we are very fortunate to have so many local, state, federal and community leaders who truly appreciate and support Veterans.

Browse around and see what your brothers and sisters are doing. Chuck Taylor has staked out a place to advocate for energy policy, JR Romero is flying the Navy Flag, and Jake Martinez has planted a flag for the U.S. Marines and northern New Mexico. Read the poetry posted by Damon Ray Toole Jr, view the Iraq photos posted by Eric Ray Hedlund. Craig Toole has photos showing service members at work in New Orleans. We already have tons of videos and community photos. Add some of your own.

Throughout the network you'll come across Veteran Service Officers and others who can help you access benefits and services. We'll single out key contacts for you in the days ahead. The Resource page has links to Veterans benefits, programs and services and our elected officials.

The sky is the limit so long as your photo, blog or comment celebrates, supports and promotes Veterans and Military in some way. Community standards apply. No commercial or sales oriented blogs (we have advertising for that).

Thank you for your service and for your interest in New Mexico Veterans.
